Referees

We will learn how to configure referee categories and teams, how to make assignments, or how to keep an economic control of referee costs.

Updated over a week ago

In this section we will know everything about the referee assignments. We will learn how to configure referee categories and teams, how to make assignments, or among other actions, how to keep an economic control of referee costs on the LEVERADE platform.

At the start of the chapter we are going to come by areas that we have previously mentioned. In the general settings, we find the referees section. This is where we can configure how many days in advance the referees will be able to modify their availability, and the deadline in days they have to respond to an appointment.

In addition, it is also here where the categories and referee team are configured and added.

-Referee categories: It allow us to distribute our refereeing team more efficiently. We can create the different categories of which it is composed, and define which referees can be appointed (designated) for one or another competition.

By clicking on the "Create category" button we access the creation menu:

In this case, we are creating the "Primera" referee category to define the highest referee category that our Federation has for the sport of water polo.

Now, we are awarding to this referee category certain categories of competition. Therefore, the referees whose category is "Primera" may be appointed to competitions whose category matches with those that we have included, and also, with the role of referee that we have selected.

Hence, if we determine that a referee having the "Primera" as category can only whistle in the "Juvenil" competition with the "Juez de mesa" type of referee, when we want to appoint him in another competition with a different category, LEVERADE will show us that his referee category does not correspond to that competition. However, we can appoint him if we wish, since the system warns us but does not limit the competition.

-Referee team: It is the group of referees that, by default, we will have created to officiate in a competition. In this way, when we add a specific "Referee Team" to a competition, all the matches in that competition will have by default the possibility of including that set of referees.

In the following image you can see the "Referee team" of a match in a specific competition:

To create it, click on the yellow button "Create configuration" to access the following screen, then you must select the number of referees per game of the selected type of referee, and do so with all types of referee:

We will access a referee card now to explain all its tabs.

-Incompatibilities: This is created to reflect any conflict that a referee has with a club, such as that the fans tried to attack him, or that the referee himself is licensed by that club. In this way, when a referee is appointed on the LEVERADE platform, we are informed about this and the federation or the member of the Referee Committee acts accordingly.

-Pending and finished matches: A referee can access his pending matches quickly to fill in the match report. He can also access finished matches to print the match report or in case he needs to add sanctions.

-Availability: This menu shows a calendar where the referee can establish his unavailability to be appointed to matches. Usually, the time when the referee can confirm this is limited by the Organizer.

-Economic control: this menu shows the total of economic movements that the referee must pay or collect (receive). Normally those linked to the number of refereed matches. We will know more about this feature in the economic control section.

-Residence: To conclude, we find the address menu, where the referee can geolocate the place of residence. This can only be configured once. Any modifications must be notified to the federation. This tab is really helpful: As we mentioned before, when entering a cost per kilometer, the platform will use this location and the one of the match to calculate the cost to be paid to the referee in terms of travel expenses.
